Junior rly minister arrives today

PATNA: Minister of state for railways (MOS) K H Muniyappa will arrive here on Wednesday morning by a flight from Delhi. This will be his maiden visit to the state capital as an MOS.

During his daylong stay, he is likely to hold a high-level meeting with ECR AGM Barun Bharthuar and other senior officials of the East Central Railway (ECR) at the Mahendru Ghat office here.

According to ECR CPRO Dilip Kumar, the minister of state will take stock of the ongoing construction works under the ECR in Bihar. He will also review the progress of the mega rail-cum-road bridge over river Ganga at Digha and other railway projects. He will discuss with senior railway officials new survey work or trains sanctioned to ECR in the current fiscal, he said, adding his visit is important to expedite completion of several railway projects.
