Sonalika tractors assembly unit started in Bihar

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the assembly unit of Sonalika tractors at Fatuha on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion he said he had laid the foundation stone two-and-a-half years ago and it gives him immense pleasure to inaugurate the unit. It is also an answer to all those who have made it a point to overlook the beginning made on the industrialization front.
Reacting to criticisms from Union ministers that no investments were coming in Bihar he said that investments worth Rs 30,000 crore were delayed as the Centre had not been conceding Bihar’s request to amend the rules for the purpose since 2007.

The chairman of the Sonalika Group of Companies L D Mittal said that he wants to see his Fatuha unit to grow into a full-fledged production unit with a capacity of rolling out 100 tractors every day.

It needs to be mentioned that the chief minister, Nitish Kumar, on November 18, 2007 attended the Bhoomi Puja of a new tractor and farm equipment factory in Fatuha Industrial Area, about 30 kilometres from Patna. Mittal was present on that occasion too.
