SGC at CIMP aims to develop skills of students

Students  Guidance Centre (SGC), an innovative project of Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), aims to be the catalyst in bringing about a radical change in the social and educational profile of Bihar by promoting and developing the competitive skills among socially backward students of the state.

The economic advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Dr S C Jha, while earlier inaugurating the centre, said that the soil of Bihar has a unique quality, but it was equally important that right opportunities be provided for its development.

SGC imparts training and scholarship to students of SC, ST and OBC category and also those coming from minority community desiring to pursue MBA Programs , but could not enter into institutes of higher repute such as IIMs and other top Business Schools of the country due to their poor socio-economic conditions.

However, the project proposal drawn by CIMP director V Mukunda Das focuses on the accelerated development of Bihar by providing educational access to brighter students of socially backward sections.

These facilities provided to the students by the CIMP in collaboration with the state government have made the students excel and achieve new heights in their career as several students of 2009-10 and 2010-11 batches were selected by many distinguished MBA Schools and even got plump jobs in several banks.
