ECR comes up with 52 more weighing machines in Bihar

PATNA: Railways has decided to install about 52 weighing machines at different stations under Danapur and four other divisions of East Central Railway (ECR). The stations include Patna Junction, Rajendra Nagar terminal, Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Mokama, Jhajha, Kiul and Rajgir. 

People will have to insert a coin of Rs 2 in the machine to know their weight, ECR CPRO Dilip Kumar said and added railways intends to carry ads the other side of the weighing tickets.

DRM inspects stations: Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Danapur, L M Jha inspected several stations under Danapur division on Thursday to take stock of passenger amenities.

The DRM directed railway officials concerned to ensure safe drinking water at all major and smaller stations of the division. Cold water has also been made available at most of the stations under the division. Jha also inspected cleanliness at most of the stations and asked the railway officials concerned to ensure cleanliness on railway platforms as well as on railway station premises.

During his inspection of Patna Junction on Wednesday evening, the DRM had taken serious note of chaotic condition in the circulating area and directed railway officials concerned to remove illegal parking from Patna Junction circulating area. He stressed the need for maintaining proper cleanliness at Patna Junction and Rajendra Nagar Terminal.
