Another wisdom to feathers of the people of Bihar. Aum Ravi a Patna resident, has developed a car racing technology and made landmarks in the National Formula Racing Championship.A mechanical engineer himself, he developed his own technology Formula 800 to develop a new racing car with the help of his team “Resonance Racing”.

During a motor race competition held in Chennai on July 3 under the flag of Supra SAE 2011, his racing car driven by Resonance Racing had come first and won the national championship trophy along with a prize money of Rs 4 lakh.

Dwelling at length on his new technology and innovative ideas to develop his own sports car, Ravi said he had successfully played the role as the head in charge of fabrication and senior race engineer. “During the initial days of designing and fabrication, our team members relentlessly worked hard to get sponsors for the race. However, we had the experience of all terrain vehicle race prior to participation in the Chennai competition,” he said.

As a senior race engineer, Ravi said, his task was to manage pit stops during the race. Luckily, he managed it within the specified time limit which helped in winning the competition. His captain Aditya Dandwate and team members Prashant and Harsimran, who hail from Jamshedpur and Dhanbad respectively, did a marvellous job in the race.

Ravi, who did his engineering from Pune, was an automobile enthusiast since his childhood. “He used to make toy models during his school days at St Karen’s School, Patna,” said his father Suman Kumar Deva , a teacher at B S College, Danapur.

Reacting to his extraordinary success, St Karen’s school principal L Gaulstaun said Ravi had the zeal to do anything extraordinary during his school days. He had innovative ideas and always wanted to do something special and creative, he said.

Ravi had earlier participated in BAJA 2009 and 2010 race competitions at Indore. He is currently associated with Volkswagen Motorsports and is one of the founders of a Pune-based organic food firm.
