Latin American students implementing Energy conservation in Bihar

Students from a leading Latin American University, Zamorano University, are putting their skills into action in Bihar. The students have successfully implemented an energy efficiency campaign in Bihar in India’s southeast teaching students about electricity preservation. More than 5000 high school and college students across 30 schools have participated in their pioneering program.

The Zamorano students are Yanira Loa Pech from Belize, Nivaro Centeno from Panama, Alberto Quintana from Mexica and Luis Huezo from El Salvador. They have teamed up with local environmental conservation organization, Tarumitra, to share their knowledge and skills.

“For more than three months we have sought to raise awareness to over 5000 students on the need to preserve as many watts of electricity possible,” said Yanira Lao Pech. “I believe we have been very successful.”

The program demonstrates Zamorano University’s commitment to active application of knowledge and learning. In addition to rigorous academic training, Zamorano fosters practical, real-world experience. The philosophy makes its graduates much sought after in the workplace.
