Doctors to get 25 percent non practising allowance in Bihar

Bihar govt has approved a 25 per cent non-practising allowance for the veterinary doctors of Bihar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretary) Ravikant said.The decision was taken a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he told reporters here.The RJD-led government had stopped a 10 per cent non-practising allowance to the veterinary doctors in 2001 against which the aggrieved doctors had moved to Patna High Court which later decided the case in favour of the petitioners.The state government’s decision to revive the non-practising allowance to the veterinary doctors has been taken in the backdrop of the HC decision, Ravikant said.The cabinet also decided Rs 1.85 lakh additional grants for various linguistic academies in Bihar, he said.
