Loknayak Jayaprakash College of Engineering to start in Chhapra

Chhapra: Come July and the city will boast of Loknayak Jayaprakash College of Engineering (LJCE). Spread over 40 acres of land LJCE would be the 7th Public Engineering College in the state.The plan is to make it a state of the art technology center and research hub.
The first session would commence from July 2012 with an intake of 300 students in five streams of engineering viz. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical , Electronics and communications, and Computer science and Engineering. LJCE would intake 60 students in each of the streams.
The intake process is likely to take place through Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam (BCECE).

There would be around 70 teaching and 25 non-teaching staffs to start with. The Professors for the college would be selected by Bihar Public Service Commission.

The institute would have all the required infrastructures for the technical education. It would have Administrative Block, Lecture Halls, Laboratories, Canteens, Recreation Halls etc. There would be separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. The institute would be entire residential.
