Bihar accedes as least Corrupt State of India

Bihar has succeeded to be the least Corrupt state in the country followed by Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
In a recent book, Corruption in India: the DNA and the RNA (Konark Publishers), published by Economists Bibek Debroy and Laveesh Bhandari, Bihar scored 0.88 for the Anti-Corruption Efforts followed by Gujrat scoring 0.69.

Much can be attributed to the regime of Nitish Kumar that there has been a radical change in the way outsiders observe Bihar. In fact, a series of steps including Right to Services, Janta Darbar, Confiscating Of Properties and Anti-Corruption Bill have led to this paradigm shift. In a similar study conducted in 2008, Bihar was put in the top of Alarmingly Corrupt States of India.

It is the cumulative effect of these that Business houses are rushing to Invest in Bihar, Non-Resident Biharis (NRB) are impatient to return their home, people are feeling proud being called Bihari.

It is Ironical that two of the neighboring states West Bengal and Jharkhand rank First and Second in the list of most Corrupt States of the Country
