Former Forest Officer’s assets confiscated in Patna

Patna District Authorities have confiscated land worth several crores of rupees belonging to former DFO Bhola Prasad.

A team of Patna district officials led by Additional District Magistrate Suresh Sharma confiscated 30 kathas of land in Phulwarisharif and nine kathas in Purnendunagar, official sources said.

The state vigilance bureau had in 2007 registered a disproportionate assent case charging the DFO with accumulating wealth worth Rs 70 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income. “We have confiscated the land of the then DFO following a recent order of the special vigilance court under Bihar Special Court Act, 2009,” the sources told PTI. The act provides for confiscation of properties accumulated through corrupt means by public servants. Earlier the authorities confiscated a building of suspended IAS officer S S Verma and opened a school there. A house of the then treasury officer Girish Kumar was also confiscated in the state capital three months back
