Samastipur Jute mill, which is Bihar’s only Jute Mill and  the lone survivor among the Jute Mills of Eastern region is on the verge of destruction.  A major Fire broke out in the mill 4 days ago and it is still in flames. Around 50 Fire Trucks has been deployed but still the fire could not be controlled.  This is a major setback to the econony of a poor district like Samastipur as the Jute mill employed close to 5000 labourers.
Sources say that  one person has been dead in the fire while two others were injured. Property worth Rs 25 Crores has also been destroyed in Flames.
