Green Peace India has installed a solar pump at the  native village Kalyan Bigha of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to provide alternative means for irrigation.
The solar pump was installed in the village in Nalanda district at a function yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, Green Peace India’s Energy Campaigner Arpana Udupa said that the solar pumping system would be an alternative means of irrigation to increase farm production.
The state must work to put Bihar on the world map as champion of Rainbow Revolution and this could be achieved only through renewable energy, she said.
