Untold Truths about the Molestation of Pinki Pramanik

Pinki PramanikPinki Pramanik, the Asian Games Gold Medalist has suffered a lot in terms of her dignity after she was accused of Rape by a fellow athlete. She was manhandled by Police and  did lose her Job too. Born in a poor family at Purulia West Bengal, Pinki reached the peak of her career when  she won a 4x400m relay gold in the 2006 Doha Asiad and a silver in the same event at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Pinki bagged three gold medals in the 2006 SAF Games in Colombo when she won the 400m, 800m and 4x400m relay events.

Below we present several untold truth, on  how she has been molested by Police and Media. Because of her sexual ambiguity and possibly transgender identity, Pinki is being continually humiliated. As long as she is not proved as a male, she must have been given the respect a female gets.

1. A 29 Second MMS has leaked online which shows  her naked, undergoing a gender determination at a government hospital. She had to undergo 3 separate MEdical Tests in different Hospitals to determine her Sex, but she doctors failed to decide her Sex. Apparentely she doesnot have Male Genital Organs hence she cannot be termed a Male.

2. Male Police arrested and took her into jail. Photographs of the policemen taking her to jail show her being groped by one of them. She has been jailed along with  other Men in the Prison.However, she has a separate cell. She doesn’t need to walk out to the go to the bathroom; she has that in her cell. That has been taken care of.

3. Inspite of of Three Medical Tests, Doctors Failed to prove her as Male  because they didnot have required Facilities.

4.  People are wondering why she hasnot been granted Bail even after 20 Days of her Arrest. if it was any other man who would have charged with anything like this, he would have got a bail by now. But it is sensationalising, the fun that the police and the official associated with this are deriving from this issue, that sort of make them carry on.

5.  She is from a very poor family, she is from a very poor village in Purulia, she has no well connected friends, she has sexually ambiguous identity, she is seen as the fair game by the police and shocking by the media

6. “I have never been subjected to such humiliation and harassment in my life,” said Pinki after she had to come yet again to the government run SSKM Hospital to give blood samples for a chromosomal test.
