Maruti Management holds Candlelight March for slain GM Awanish Kumar Dev

Maruti Suzuki  Official and management  organised a candlelight march  on Sunday to  pay their Tributes to  its slain GM HR  Awanish Kumar Dev  in the July 18 violence at its Manesar Facility.

Nearly 300 company officials including senior executives S.Y. Siddqi, Ratan Aggarwal, Capt. Deepak Anand, Capt. Naresh, Sanjay Narang, K.K. Sharma, C.S. Raju, Prasad Verma and Ashok Kumar along with others assembled in the Leisure Valley Park at 7 p.m. and offered prayers and held a candle-light march. They also prayed for justice for all the victims.

Dev was killed and nearly 100 people were injured after the workers went on a rampage July 18. The plant has shut down operations after the incident.

Haryana, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda says that the violence at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant will not impact on investments in Haryana.

“One untoward incident cannot have so many implications. The incident won’t have any impact on the investment friendly atmosphere and future of industries in the state. I can assure that,” said Hooda on the sidelines of a programme here.

Ten Maruti Suzuki union leaders were Thursday sent to police custody for seven days by a court here for their alleged role in the July 18 violence at the Manesar plant that left an executive dead.

The accused were arrested Wednesday, taking the number of people held in the case to 114.
