True to Abu Jundal’s Prediction, Five Bomb Blasts Hit Pune

True to Abu Jundal’s Prediction, Five low intensity explosions occurred in Pune at about 8 PM  in the busy Junglee Maharaj Road area  injuring one person.  A sixth bomb was defused by the bomb disposal squad.

While the first three blasts took place within a radius of one km at the Jungli Maharaj Road, the fourth blast was reported from the Garware Chowk and the fifth from the Khyber Park area.

Advocate Bipin Patole, an eye witness was in his office on JM Road when he heard a blast at 8:15 pm.

“The sound was so loud that it seemed to be a huge blast. Though the intensity was low, the sound was very high”, said Patole.

He came down from his office, asked people to leave the area, and told shop owners to pull down the shutters. He was also the one who called the control room and alerted a crime branch official about the blast.

Maharashtra ATS and bomb detection and disposal squads reached the spots, police said.

Wires connected with watches and detonators have been recovered from blast spots. The explosion were well planned, the sources added.

Asked if it was a terror attack, Maharashtra DGP Sanjeev Dayal told, “It is not appropriate to comment at this moment. Police teams have reached the spots and are looking into the matter.”

Pune Police Commissioner Gulab Rao Pol  said the explosives carried by the injured man were kept in a cake box with sticky material, two detonators and a pencil cell.

One detonator went off in the explosion while the second was defused by a bomb disposal squad team.

Notably, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde was supposed to visit Bal Gandharv theatre on Wednesday evening. He, however, cancelled the visit earlier on Wednesday.
