Bidya Balan feels like being a Bengali sometimes

KahaaniActress Vidya (Bidya) Balan feels like being a native Bengali. Above all it is the city of  Joy, Kolkata which is deeply linked to her success.

“I have shot three films here – ‘Bhalo Theko’, ‘Parineeta’ and ‘Kahaani’. I feel like a Bengali,” said Balan who was here Thursday to inaugurate the Sreebhumi Sporting Club marquee built to resemble the Meenakshi Temple of Madurai.

Enthralling her Kolkata fans in fluent Bengali, the actress expressed her joy at being back in the city.

“I am very happy to be in Kolkata. I always try to speak in Bengali because the city is my second home,” said Vidya who also danced to some peppy numbers.

Her “Kahaani”, which released this year, was shot during 2010 Durga Puja and she feels that the thriller had the blessings of goddess Durga.

“Two years ago we had shot ‘Kahaani’ here. I had prayed for ‘Kahaani’ to be very successful and, because of goddess Durga’s blessings and the support of my fans, it became a huge hit,” she said.

Having made her movies debut with Gautam Halder’s “Bhalo Theko” in 2003, the 33-year-old promises to be back again.

“Gautam-da is responsible for me being here today. Kolkata beckoned me again and I am here. I shall keep coming back,” said the talented actress.
