Dead Bihar Boy found mingling with Lover in New Delhi

A Teenage Boy from Bihar who was declared dead was the prime cause behind all the tension in Madhubani since last month has been traced in New Delhi today. What more, when he was found with his Girlfriend with whom he eloped last month.

The two teenagers were spotted in south Delhi’s Mehrauli around 2.45 p.m. They stayed at Ranchi in Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Darjeeling in West Bengal before reaching Delhi on train in the morning, police said.

“They were detained after they failed to provide proper identity proof,” said a police officer.

During questioning, the boy said that he was a resident of Madhubani where he was declared dead a month ago after his family members identified an unclaimed body as his.

“The boy said he escaped from his native place along with his classmate a month back without informing anyone. His family members later gave a missing complaint,” a police officer said.

A week after the missing complaint, an unclaimed body of a boy was recovered by Bihar Police. On being shown to his family members, they identified the body as his, police said.

But Bihar Police refused to hand over the body to his family without confirmation of the identity, police said.

“A protest by the boy’s family members ensued. An irate mob surrounded the local police station and set it on fire. The crowd also torched a prisoners’ van allowing two dozen inmates to escape,” police said.

Curfew was imposed Saturday in the boy’s native place after his family members damaged vehicles. Many protesters were injured in police firing, said the officer.

The two would now be sent back to Bihar, he said.
