Man arrested for posting offensive Tweet against Chidambaram’s Son

S. Ravi a small industrialist from Puducherry has been arrested for allegedly exposing some financial irregularities performed by Karti Chidambaram, son of Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram

Ravi posted on Microblogging site Twitter that  Karti Chidambaram (@kartiPC) had amassed wealth more than that of Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi.

Puducherry police said Karti lodged a complaint and Ravi was booked under Section 66 (1) (hacking with computer system) of the Information Technology Act. The section can be used against a person who, with the intent to causing wrongful loss or damage to the public or any person, destroys or deletes or alters any information residing in a computer resource or diminishes its value or utility or affects it injuriously by any means.

Police produced 45-year old Ravi before Chief Judicial Magistrate Venkatakrishnan and sought 15 days remand.

S Ravi, 46, runs a packaging unit at Sederapet Industrial Estate in Puducherry.
