Tariq Anwar becomes first Minister from Bihar in UPA 2 Government

After being devoid of any ministry position since the begin of UPA 2 regime in 2009, Bihar has finally got a minister in the Council of Ministers at Center.

Tariq Anwar who was the General Secretary of Nationallist COngress Party has been sworn in as Minister of State for Agriculture & Food Processing Industries.

A total of 22  new members have been added to the council of ministers headed by the Prime Minister.

Tariq Anwar  has been Member of Lok Sabha several times from Katihar Parliamentary Constituency.

His political career started from Congress Party, as a student leader he was very popular. He contested his first Lok Sabha election from Katihar Parliamentary constituency on a Congress ticket in 1977 which he lost. But he managed to win the 1980 Lok Sabha Election from Katihar, and from then onwards there was no stopping for him.

He has been the National President of Indian Youth Congress. His mentor was Shri. Sitaram Keshri.
