Top Critics Review of Student of the Year

Bollywood Movie Student of the year has received a fairly well review from Major critics of the industry and the film is likely be over 100 Crores grosser. Lets have a look at what top critics say about the movie.

Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the movie 4/5 stars, saying that “Student Of The Year is a love story that traverses the trodden path. But KJo is an artisan with intellect and taste and he ensures that the script is spruced up and modernized with such elan that it doesn’t offend the spectator’s wisdom or intelligence”

The accomplished director takes on familiar material and gives it an entirely new twirl. This is escapist cinema at its best! On the whole, Student Of The Year is amongst Karan Johar’s most accomplished works. The youth brigade would love it and those who have already past that age would want to revisit those days. This one’s entertainment, entertainment and entertainment at its best. Clearly, KJo has a winner on hands, yet again

Martin D’Souza of Glamsham gave a negative review citing that the Director doesnot seem to be well involved with the Content.The mark of intensity that one has seen in Karan’s past films is missing. It’s like a grand wedding reception with a poor food spread. The narrative is not as fluid and can be best described as jerky with too many plots and plans in the initial 20 minutes. Later, it does sober down, but still keeps going back and forth.

Zeenews also gave a moderate rating but praised the role played by debutants. They have really pulled off a tough task of playing praiseworthy roles in a film which suffers from the lack-of-a-story syndrome. The director’s latest offering justifies, to the last bit, the adage – ‘all that glitters is not gold’.

Indiatimes is all praise for SOTY and gives it a high rating. The film is full of KJo-isms – it’s larger-than-life, colourful, lavish, beautifully shot and directed. With medleys, dance, drama and everything good-looking (from cast to couches, dorms to discos).It further adds that you may not like this movie if bubble-gum romances, picture-perfect worlds and candy-floss clouds are not your idea of a movie-going experience.

Oneindia also gives a three cheers to Student of the year. Student of the Year is a youthful and interesting movie that deserves a thumps up.
