Aam Aadmi Party announces its Regional and Territorial Structure

arvind kejriwalAam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Social Activist Arvind Kejriwal announced its Regional and Territorial Structure today. To begin with AAP would have 337 district committees in 18 states of the country by January 31st.

The party also announced the names of its Spokesperson, they are Prashant Bhushan, Sanjay Singh and Gopal Rai, Manish Sisodia and Anand Kumar.

Area of Focus

The party will focus on corruption in land acquisition, procurement prices, issues of contract and unorganised labour sector and continue with its exposes, said a leader.

Activities
“From December 10, we will start a ‘Jansampark Abhiyan’ in Delhi. We will go to each house and create awareness. A survey will also be conducted and feedback of people will be taken,” said AAP leader Gopal Rai.

In Delhi, the party will focus on power tariffs and rising prices of essential commodities.

Supporters

Aam Aadmi Party got unparallel number of Supporters to begin with.

“We were looking for an option (to national parties) and we got it in the form of the AAP. This party will bring transparency in politics” said Chandan Raj, an under-graduate student at Delhi University.

Gurpreet Singh Uppal, who was leading a group of India Against Corruption (IAC) members from Assam, said: “They (AAP) will clear the dirty politics of India… We will now vote for the AAP in Assam.”

“People will now get an option to vote for candidates with clean image,” said Krishna Sharma, a member of the group.

“Politics won’t change without Kejriwal coming into power,” said Manoj Kumar, an autorickshaw driver.

“We are not getting a fixed price on sugarcane. We hope that Arvind Kejriwal will be able to bring that change,” said 28-year-old Praveen Chauhan, a farmer from Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district.

“I believe this party will end corruption,” said Ramanand Sharma from Bihar capital Patna. “I will take the AAP membership because ‘aam log’ (common people) are connected with the party.”

“I was a hardcore supporter of the Congress but now I will vote for the AAP in the next election,” said Arjit Singh, who runs a medical store in Bajpur town of Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand.
