Bihar Healthcare Services improve to a Rate of 86% : AC Neilsen

Patna: Taking a giant stride in the Health Care Sector, Bihar has improved its services in Health  leading to the overall Improvement of Services Rate to 86 percent , says a report published by global marketing research firm AC Nielsen.

AC Neilsen released its citizen report card on public services in rural Bihar (2012) based on its survey.

This means that over 86 percent of its people  believe that there has been satisfactory improvement in health facilities in Bihar. A similar study points out the Improvement Rate for Certificates to 77 % while that of Schools to 76 percent.

The improvement in services related to pension and ration shops under Public Distribution System (PDS) was recorded at 76 per cent and 72 percent respectively, while the same for Anganwadis and MGNREGS stood at 71 and 86 percent respectively, Bangalore-based NGO Public Affairs Foundation (PAF)’s Executive Director Sita Shekhar said at the release of the report card.

However, the grievance redressal has been found to be the worst performing among the eight public services in Bihar recording a rate of 36 percent, she said. On satisfaction level of the people with various services, the pension topped the chart at 81 percent to be followed by health facilities (80), certificates (78), ration shops (78), Anganwadis (71) and MGNREGS (65), but grievance redressal at 47 percent and MGNREGS at 30 percent featured prominently when asked about to identify services with which they have been most dissatisfied with, she said.
