Case against MIM Leader Akbar Owaisi for Hate speech against Hindus

HyderabadAkbaruddin Owaisi:  A Case has been registered against All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party MLA  Akbaruddin Owaisi for making utterly hateful speech against a particular religious community in a public meeting at Adilabad Andhra Pradesh, on December 24.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the case was filed by KK Sagar of the BJP and is slated for hearing on Monday.

The complaint has been  invoked under section 295 a and 298 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with offences related to religion, like deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs and fomenting enmity between two communities.

The Video of the Speech was uploaded on Youtube by a local channel 4TV which is also reported to be owned by another MIM Leader. The original video has been pulled down from Youtube by 4TV.

The Video went viral on Youtube and users worldwide demanded the arrest of Akbar Owaisi on the grounds of Varun Gandhi who too was arrested in for similar hateful speech in 2009.

BJP leader Varun Gandhi was also booked for making similar speech during an election rally in 2009.

Akbar Owaisi is the younger  brother of  Asaduddin Owaisi who  is also the Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad and was a former ally of UPA, but parted way in November after Charminar controversy.

Akbaruddin Owaisi is also the managing director of Owaisi hospital which was setup by his late father Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi for the welfare of the Muslims.

In 2007, along with other elected and serving members of his party, he made death threats against Tasleema Nasreen, pledging that the fatwa against her and Salman Rushdie were to be abided by.
