Major milestones achieved by Tata Companies under Ratan Tata

Ratan TataRatan Tata took over as the Chairman of Tata Group in 1991 and since then he raised the empire from from a turnover of a mere Rs 10,000 crore to around Rs 475,721 crore) in 2011-12. Tomorrow he relinquishes the Title to his successor Cyrus Mistry.

Under his stewardship, Tata Tea acquired Tetley, Tata motors acquired Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel acquired Corus, which have turned Tata from a largely India-centric company into a global business, with 65% revenues coming from abroad. He also pushed the development of Indica and the Nano.

It was under him that Tata Consultacy Services was rebranded  and today it is largest Software Company in Asia with an annual revenue of $10 Bn.
