The board meeting, chaired by Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra, was told that “the government of India’s approval has been secured for the minting of non-circulation commemorative coins and two billion circulation coins of Rs.5 and Rs.10 denomination”.

The board looks after the affairs of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine near Katra, 50 km from Jammu.

The board also reviewed the status of the Tehri Hydro Development Corporation, progress on an emergency helipad at Panchhi, non-conventional energy projects and afforestation.

The meeting decided to conduct a survey of the pilgrims to the shrine each year so as to create better facilities for them.
