Political Parties demand Job for Srinagar Acid Attack Victim

Political Parties at Jammu and Kashmir have demanded a Government job for the Female School Teacher, who was attacked with Acid by Two men on Wedesday.

PDP spokesperson Naeem Akhtar said that the acid attack had severely jeopardized the life of the woman who was teacher at a private school.

“For her rehabilitation it was necessary that the government came forward with appropriate measures and the minimum it could do was to provide an appropriate job to the victim,” Akhtar said.

He said in a statement here that as the victim may lose vision in one eye, her disability would entitle her to a preferential treatment in getting a government job.

The victim was attacked by a motorcycle-borne assailant Jan 2 who threw acid on her face.

Doctors in a local hospital where she was first admitted said she had sustained 60 percent acid burn wounds on her face.

Her assailant has been arrested.

The local bar association said in a statement that none of its members would defend the attacker in a court of law.
