Women launch Divine Shakti Festival at Maha Kumbh 2013

Allahabad: Women Groups launched a divine Shakti festival at the Ganga Action Parivar Global Sangam camp on Friday to hold yoga, meditation and musical functions to celebrate the divine feminity.

The festival began under the leadership of Swami Chidanand Saraswati, president of Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh, and founder of Ganga Action Parivar. It brought together women from around the world.

Yogacharyas, meditation leaders, inspirational speakers and others have come to the Maha Kumbh to introspect and to connect with the divine feminity of the Mother Goddess, Mother Ganga, Mother Earth and Mother Nature.

Swami Chidanand Saraswati told the gathering: “One of the greatest riches and greatest powers in the world is divine Shakti. Whether we worship her in the form of Ma Durga, Ma Kali, Ma Saraswati, Ma Gayatri, Ma Ganga, Mother Nature or Mother Earth, that divine power is one and is the power of creation and birth. We must protect it and revere it.”

Ganga Action Parivar brings together networks and partnerships of the world’s preeminent researchers, environmentalists, engineers, religious, business leaders and the common man.
