Samastipur: National Democratic Alliance has emerged Victorious in the By-Elections held for Kalyanpur Assembly Seat here at Samastipur.
Manju Kumari who is from Janta Dal United (JDU) won the Seat with a huge margin of 16,432 votes.
The JD(U), which is in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state, had fielded Manju Kumari against the united forces of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Lok Jan Shakti Party. While the RJD had given its backing to LJP candidate Rekha Paswan, Congress’s Anita Ram and Soni Kumar, an Independent, were the other two contestants.
The Polls for this Seat were held on February 24.
