42 Indians honored by Bangladesh for contributing to 1971 War

Dhaka: Bangladesh today awarded 42 more Indians  for their invaluable contribution to the Bangladesh’s War of Liberation in 1971.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Haseena presented the ”Bangladesh Liberation War Honour” and ”Friends of Liberation War Honor” awards and citations at a special ceremony in Dhaka.

The Indians who got the awards include Fomer West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu and Former Union Ministers Nandini Satpathy and Priyaranjan Dasmunsi, Former army Chief General Shankar Roy Chowdhury and Lt.General Jagjit Singh Aurora .

Twenty six individuals from other countries were also awarded.Three persons including former Cuban President Fidel Castro were conferred with the Bangladesh Liberation War Award.
