Bihar to provide free Livestock to 5.5 Lakhs Poor Families

Bihar Government has implemented another pro-poor scheme under which poor families would be provided with Goats and Poultry Birds free of cost for their survival.

The  idea is that the Goat would provide Milk, while Poultry birds would provide Eggs for food to the poor families.

According to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar,   5.50 lakh households each will get 45 hens in three installments through Self Help Groups (SHG). The Government also plans  to constitute 10 lakh SHGs in five years where each SHG would comprise of 15 members.

Under this scheme the Government aims to reach about 6 crores people.

Nitish Kumar also expressed his concern over the rampant population growth in the state. He said that the population of  Bihar would be about 20 crores by 2050, if the present explosion of population is not curtailed. The Government is spending a lot in Women’s Education to curtail the Population Growth apart from implementing Medical methods to check population.

He surprised everyone by the fact that, “In Bihar it has been reported that if girls are matriculate, their families have only two children.”
