Nationwide Strike of Transporters from Midnight of April 1st

Patna: The Nationwide Strike  net month, called by Transporters  shall be observed by the transporters of Bihar also. The strike is being called by  All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC)  from the midnight of April 1.

Transporters across India are protesting against hike in third party insurance premium and related demands.

About 90,000 trucks and 25,000 passengers buses will stay of the road as transporters will join the AIMTC’s call for indefinite strike from April 1 next to protest hike in the third party insurance premium by the Centre and also to press for other demands like time-bound disposal of insurance claims, fixation of jurisdiction and amount of insurance claims, he said in a statement.

A meeting of the transporters under the banner of the Bihar Motor Transports Federation will be held in the state capital on March 29 to discuss the details about the proposed strike by the transporters.

The central government has hiked the third party insurance premium and taken other measures. The transporters have decided to call for a nationwide strike from April 1 to press for their various demands.
