Bihar Boy to represent India at Global Young Leaders Conference in US

Patna: A class 11th Student of Loyola High School Patna, Sumit Raj has been invited to attend the Global Young Leaders Conference to be held in the United States in july 2013 as part of Indian Delegation.

“I received the invite last month,” said Sumit, adding that the GYLC would bring together students from 100 countries around the globe to discuss their roles as global ambassadors, as they analyze concepts surrounding  communications, diplomacy, law, human rights, peace, security, economics and the role of the United Nations. “The conference will review the  contribution of these students to their surroundings.” Sumit said.

By any means, this invite is not the only achievement he has got in the past years. Being a Teenage Web Developer, Sumit was invited to work as a paid part-time developer for a renowned technology firm. He has been working in the field of student leadership for the past few years and he also works as the Co-Founder and President of Students Speak, a student organisation. Other Entrepreneurship ventures of Sumit are FunFanFriend – A social networking website with the best of all worlds, Tuitions Connect – A Website that helps students to find a suitable tuition and provides the all the guidance they need to make them academically stronger.

When asked about his aspirations, Sumit said that he wants to become a Technology Entrepreneur. He wants to create a company which will create open source and free softwares and generate its revenue from advertisements. He wants to create the internet a more open and safer place.

Humble to the core, Sumit said, “I dedicate my success to my school, my teachers, mentors, and above all, my parents.” Apart form Leadership ventures, Sumit’s other interests lie in Web Development and Punk Rock.
