Patna Police to Install 86 CCTV Cameras throughout the city

Patna Traffic Police is planning to install 86 CCTV Camera in the city as a check against speeding vehicles in the city.

The CCTV cameras would be provided by Bihar State Electronics Corporation (BELTRON) and it would have controlled directly by the office of Senior Superintendent of Police.

This was revealed by DIG of Central Range Sunil Kumar at a function organized by Institute of Engineers for Road Safety and Challenges Ahead.

He also told that the Traffic Police is getting stricter over the implementation of Rules. The Traffic Policemen are being trained about FIrst Aid. The records of people involved in Road accidents are also being sent to DTO regularly.

The Department is also collecting information to define Danger Zones on Roads and Highways so that appropriate Safety Guidelines can be implemented in those zones.

Police is also identifying those regions from where the complaints of eve-teasing are most received. CCTV Cameras would also be installed in the vicinity of those places.

According to sources, two wheelers are the ones which over speed on roads leading to accidents. 59 percent of Accidents are due to Overspeeding only and most of the times it is the rider of bikes who succumb to the injuries.
