PMCH Students to be fined Rs 100 for missing a Single Lecture

Patna: The Administration at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) has got more strict regarding the attendance of Student. Under the new guidelines, 75 percent attendance has been made compulsory for all students in all subjects, in order to appear in Examinations.

Further, they might be asked to pay a penalty of Rs 100 if they miss a single lecture without any valid reason. Otherwise, the Students won’t be allowed in Extra Classes meant for completing the mandatory attendance percentage.

The new regulations have been imposed under the notifications made by Medical Council of India (MCI), which mandates 75% attendance in all subjects including practicals.

According to Dr. N P Yadav, the Principal of PMCH, the institute shall not observe any leniency regarding these rules. However, he was happy that the attendance of students has improved after new rules have been imposed.

PMCH has a long history of mismanagement and students are well known for bunking classes. Few years back, its recognition by MCI was also endangered, but with new initiatives it can be expected that Bihar’s most coveted Medical Colleges regains its stature.
