Police arrests Delhi Infant Rape accused from Muzaffarpur

The Police have arrested the accused in the Delhi Infant Rape Case  Manoj Kumar Sah from Muzaffarpur in the wee hours of Saturday. A Joint operation led by Delhi and Bihar Police led to the successful nabbing of Manoj from his in-laws village of Chiknouta at around 2:30 AM.

Police traced him with the help of his mobile phone, which he used several times even after fleeing from New Delhi.

Manoj works as a labourer in New Delhi and was living in the same house as the family of the victim.

He was produced in a local court and will be brought on transit remand to Delhi.  Manoj Kumar Sah had married recently and his wife had come to her parent’s place two days back. He has been charged with attempt to murder and rape among other things.

Manoj came to Delhi with his father Bindeswar Sah, who runs a juice shop in Old Seelampur, about 15 years ago. He had two brothers and four sisters who are staying in Bihar

He told police during initial interrogation that he fled the house in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar at around 7 pm to catch the 8:30 pm Swatantrata Senani Express for his hometown thinking that the girl has died.
