Pakistani Prisoner Sanaullah dies at PGIMER Chandigarh

Pakistani Prisoner Rana Sanaullah Haq alias Ranjay, who was wounded last week after an attack at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu has succumbed to the injuries. He suffered multiple organ failures and took his last breathes around 6:56 AM on Thursday morning.

According to doctors, he suffered kidney failures on Wednesday. He was attacked by another Indian Prisoner at the jail which injured his brain severely. He was airlifted to PGIMER Chandigarh the same day and was in the deep comma in the intensive care unit of the trauma center. But his condition started deteriorating from Monday morning with metabolic deterioration in form of fluctuating blood sugar, spiking temperature.

Even hemodynamic (blood movement) status started worsening. Doctors tried to maintain the basic indicators with heavy dose of vasopressors (medicine to control blood pressure) and addition of hydrocortisone (a steroid given to increase blood sugar in body) for the same purpose. But according to doctors the injury was so grievous that it couldn’t help much.

Sanaullah Ranjay was 52 year old Pakistani who was charged with two bombings in Jammu killing 14 people during 1993-94. He was arrested the same year and convicted to Life Term in 2009.
