Patna High Court asks PMC to ban Roadside Sale of Fish and Meat

Patna: The High Court has directed Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) to ban the Roadside Sale of Fish and Meat within the City Limits.

The Court has directed PMC to submit a detailed plan within Four Weeks for curbing this practice as well to ensure the rehabilitation of those who would be affected by this move.

The Court has taken this action after a PIL was filed by social activists, where it was argued that such sale has he a negative impact on the Children who see animals getting slaughtered while passing-by.

Several illegal meat shops have come up in various parts of the city. Very few of them have the required license and even few get their licenses timely. The Court has asked the Corporation to remove such shops also.

The court has also ordered PMC to refrain from issuing fresh license, until it submits the detailed working plan for the same.
