Jammu: While annual Amarnath Yatra might have started last week, many are unaware about Buddha Amarnath Yatra which is scheduled to commence from August 1. Â The Shrine of Buddha Amarnath is located at Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir.
Inauguration of the two-week-long yatra will be held at the base camp in Bhagwati Nagar area here on August 1, Poonch district VHP chief Nishu Gupta said. The first batch of pilgrims will leave for Poonch the next day from the base camp, he said.
The last batch will leave Jammu on August 11, he said adding free lodging and boarding will be provided to pilgrims throughout the route.
According to faithful, the Amarnath Yatra completes only after paying obeisance at the Budha Amarnath temple in Poonch.
