Bihar Government plans to procure 391 Ambulance for Villages

Ambulance Service in BiharBihar Government has decided to procure 391 Ambulance for Additional Primary Health Centres in the villages. These ambulances would be available on call by dialing 102, free of cost. Already the State has over 500 ambulances running on its roads connecting villages to various PHCs and Civil Hospitals.

According to the officials in the State Health Department, these new ambulances would start operation latest by August 15, 2013.

The Advanced Life-Saving Ambulances, are part of the State Government’s initiative to make Emergency and General Medical Facility within the reach of common people and since 2011 millions have been benifited by this scheme.

The Ambulance Facility is free of Cost to the people living below Poverty Lines, Senior Citizens, Pregnant Females, and upto 30 days old infants. Others can also avail the facility by paying nominal charges.
