Uttarakhand Flood worsens again amid fresh Rainfall and Landslide

Chamoli: The Flood Condition at Uttarakhand has worsened again amid fresh rainfall and subsequent landslide. Seven person of a family died due to landslide at Bhikona village in Chamoli District. Four bodies have been recovered so far. Meanwhile in Gunji of Pithoragarh district 128 stranded people including 51 pilgrims of Kailash Mansarover Yatra have been airlifted to Dharchula.

In Munsyari region of Pithoragarh many people are still stranded and acute shortage of food grains and other essential items in Baling village has been reported.

The dropping of food grains and other essential commodities by helicopters have been resumed today in most part of the affected areas as weather improves. In Kedarnath out of 74 officials who were engaged to collect DNA sample, crimination of dead bodies and other necessary work, 55 have been airlifted to Guptkashi.

A team of 10 members consisting of mountaineers, NDRF, PWD personnel and State police has been sent to Kedarnath to carry out essential work. Meanwhile in Uttarkashi Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway has been opened upto Netala.
