High Security to thwart terror attacks during Janmashtami

Shri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated across the country today, with traditional gaiety and religious fervour. The festival is celebrated to commemorate the Birth of Lord Krishna.

In Uttar Pradesh, elaborate security arrangements have been made in and around Shri Krishna Janmsthan Temple Mathura on the Janmashtami. The premises have been divided into three zones- red, yellow and green with the security purpose, having an ASP rank officer for each zone. The sleuths of IB, Black cat commandos, jawans of CRPF and a posse of local police have been deployed to ensure the security of the premises. Besides, additional police force has been called from Kanpur, Agra and Jhansi ranges to make the security impeccable. The senior officials are keeping a closed vigil on the whole area with the help of CCTV cameras installed at several places.

In Mathura, lakhs of devotees are expected to throng the Krishna Janmsthan premises to have a glimpse of the spectacular sight of the birth of their beloved Kanha in the night today. To ensure the safety of all the visiting devotees and the Krishna temple premises, the three zones have further been divided into twelve sectors having a Dy SP rank officer for each sector. Tonight when the Krishna Kanhaiyya will bless the humanity with his birth in Mathura, lakhs of his loving devotees will witness the mystical scene with their eyes directly, whereas crores of others will see it through television cameras sitting in their houses. To celebrate the birth of the Lord Krishna, the city of Mathura is decorated like a bride.
