The Moment when Yasin Bhatkal was arrested

Dreaded Terrorist and Indian Mujahideen Founder Yasin Bhatkal was arrested by Bihar Police from India Nepal Border on Wednesday night. We bring out the entire account of his arrest as revealed by Agencies and Police.

A Reliable Informer provided NIA  the phone number used by Bhatkal recently. The Number was tracked down to be located in Nepal. Nepal Police was contacted to provided more information and soon it was established that the person using the number was housed at Pokhara in Nepal.

When NIA came to know about this, a plan was made and agents were rushed to Darbhanga and places along India Nepal Border. Bihar Police provided complete personnel and logistic support during the entire operation.

On Wednesday night, Yasin Bhatkal was trapped in a house in Pokhara in Nepal by local cops and whisked away into the waiting arms of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Bihar Police.

A Bonus Catch in the same house  was Asadullah Akhtar aka ‘ Haddi’, who is considered Bhatkal’s right hand. His identity could only be revealed after the duo were handed over to Bihar Police Team at around 3AM. 2 Laptops were also recovered from them

However there are conflicting version of his arrest. “Bhatkal was arrested on the Indo-Nepal border and we can confirm that he was not nabbed in Nepal,” said Indian Embassy in Nepal spokesperson Abhay Kumar.

“Reports about his arrest in Nepal are false. We haven’t arrested him nor handed him over to Indian authorities,” said Nepal Police spokesperson Nabaraj Silwal.

However, experts argue that such arrests do happen and it is later shown to be arrested from India-Nepal Border to avoid any diplomatic complications.

On Thursday, Yasin Bhatkal  and Akhtar were produced before a court in Motihari and are to be brought to Delhi. The court granted NIA a three day remand of the duo.
