August 22, 6:30 PM
A 23 Year Old Photojournalist Girl Intern , working for a leading Magazine visits Shakti Mills in the Mahalaxmi area of Mumbai along with a Male Friend  to take photographs. She was on an assignment doing a story on chawls and mills in Mumbai.
August 22, 7:00 PMÂ
The Photography was going on when a group of 5 men approached them. They ask whether they have the required permission to click photos as it was Railway areas. They tell the victim that she would require permission to take pictures. On this pretext, the duo was taken to an area where the male colleague was tied up and the girl raped. 5 More People join the Rapists. The male colleague accompanying the woman was tied up and beaten by the accused.
Rapists held a broken beer bottle over the her neck and threatened to kill her if she moved.  The  rapists clicked photographs of her after the assault and threatened to release them in public and defame her if she dared to disclose their identities.
August 22, 8:30 PM
The Police is informed about the Rape Incident. It is not yet known how the victim and her colleague landed at Jaslok Hospital on Peddar Road. The Statements of the Victim and Colleague is recorded.
More than 20 teams, including 10 from the elite Crime Branch formed to track down the perpetrators amid mounting public pressure and anger.
August 23, 3-4 AM
Accused Vijay Jadhav is picked up in the wee hours by the Crime branch from a video parlour in the congested Madanpura area of south central Mumbai.
August 23, 9:30 AM
A Press Conference is organized by Mumbai Police commissioner Satyapal Singh. Police releases the sketches of the remaining 4 accused. More details here.
August 23, Noon
Chand Babu Sattar Shaikh alias Mohammed Abdul (19), was arrested in the case. He had named all the remaining co-accused, Â Qasim Bengali, Saleem and Ashfaq.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan says â€The state government will bear the expenses for the treatment of the victim of this highly condemnable crime.â€
The CEO of Jaslok hospital says that the Victim is in stable condition after going through a minor procedure and is currently under the care of gynecologists.
August 24 Morning
Doctors attending to the rape survivor say she is stable and is able to speak. Investigators say the victim has given a description of the culprits. According to news reports, the 23-year-old photojournalist wants life imprisonment for all the perpetrators. “They should be punished severely as they have ruined my life,†the gangrape survivor told her mother from the hospital bed.
Talking to Nirmala Samant Prabhavalkar, member of the National Commission for Women, the victim said that she was keen to leave the past behind and get discharged from hospital to join work as soon as possible.
August 25, 11:00 AM
Sources reveal that the remaining three rape suspects have been arrested by Mumbai Police.  The fourth accused Kasim Bangali was nabbed from Mumbai late on Saturday night, the fifth accused in the case Salim Ansari was arrested from Delhi on Sunday and is being brought to Mumbai and would be produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate on Monday.
