Officer who busted Gurgaon Sex and Smoke Party, suspended

Subhash Kaushik, the Excise Officer who had busted the Gurgaon Sex and Smoke Party in July 2013 has been suspended on Grounds of inaction and inefficient approach to cracking down on illegal liquor vending shops in rural areas, reports Mail Today.

Reports suggest that Excise Inspector Subhash Kaushik had directed the Team of Police  which conducted the Raid at on July 14 at a Hookah Bar in Gurgaon and arrested 140 Teenage Students including girls, being served alcohol.

The party was organized through Social Networking Site Facebook and the Participants  had paid Rs 600 each. They were being liquor and hookah to minors. Hookah is banned altogether.  The club authorities, despite clear instructions, made no efforts to check the age proof of the children.

The Role of Powerful Liquor Mafia in his suspension cannot be denied as the Pub Owners were incurring heavy losses due to his  frequent raids.

Apparently, some of his seniors were also not happy with his Pub Crackdowns and Raids. There are 6 Excise Inspectors in Gurgaon, but only he was suspended on grounds of inefficiency.

Subhash Kaushik was known for conducting raids every alternate nigh had served over 40 Challans to Pub Owners in last 3 months only.

Reports suggest that he was suspended on the recommendation of a Team of Chandigarh Excise Department which had reportedly visited the district and found some illegal liquor vending shops in the rural areas that fall under Sohna, Badshahpur and Rajendra Park police stations.

Confirming his suspension Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner Anil Kadyan said “We have no authority to suspend any of inspector-rank officers. Excise and taxation department of Chandigarh has suspended him for not performing duty efficiently,” he said.
