Sherlyn recently made her debut on Indian Television as the Host of the 6th season of MTV’s famous show “Splitsvilla,” for which she has garnered rave reviews for her composure and spontaneity. Sherlyn is also the Lead Actress of a highly anticipated movie, Kamasutra 3D based on Vatsyayana’s famous creation, Kamasutra.
The film set in the backdrop of real historical milieu, is about the journey of an Indian Princess who takes up a voyage in pursuit of her husband. During the voyage, the Indian Princess is introduced to the forbidden world of sexual love and sensuality as a result of which, she undergoes soulful transformations of the mind and the body. Kamasutra 3D which is set in the pre-modern era will use Auro 3D sound technology.
Directed by Rupesh Paul, Sherlyn is most excited to learn dance forms from her guru who is ace choreographer, Ms. Saroj Khan. Co starring Jackie Shroff, Makarand Deshpande and the national award winning Salim Kumar, the film is surely going to be a breath-taking and an intriguing experience visually and emotionally.
Making it big in Bollywood is no child’s play, one requires determination, immense faith in one’s craft and the ability to face rejection and to not lose hope. Sherlyn went through the grind and looking back, she is proud of each and every accomplishment achieved so far.
Speaking about her journey she affirms, “My journey has been like the rise of the Phoenix. It started with zero clarity, mediocrity, lack of individuality and gradually progressed to phenomenal excellence and chutzpah. My advice to all those who want to make it big in life is to spend time with oneself to understand one’s strengths and weaknesses to be able to use the former in ways more than one and to work on diffusing the latter.To be true to oneself in an industry which is highly competitive is challenging for any individual. Being single is considered abnormal even in a cosmopolitan city like Mumbai. Being at peace is a state of mind that is sought irrespective of being in a relationship. Most people perceive single girls to be highly vulnerable which is mostly untrue.”
