Sting Video shows Delhi Metro Staff rent Toilets to Couples

Delhi Metro has ordered probe into a Sting Operation case which alleges that its Staff rent toilet to couples for hours in return of Money.

The Sting operation conducted by Zee TV shows some DMRC staff taking Rs 500 for allowing couples inside the Toilet Rooms for longer period. It has been reported that staff usually charge Rs 300-500 from the couples so they can spend their intimate moments for an hour. The sting operation was reportedly carried out at several Delhi Metro stations including Race Course, Paschim Vihar, Ashok Park, Green Park and Madipur.

For the sting, a Reporter posed as customer asked for space in the station’s washroom for him and his woman friend. The Metro Attendants revealed that rooms inside the station could be rented for Rs 300-500 per hour.

The Attendants made claims of providing the couples with space inside the station’s operations areas, which is restricted for general public and is only accessible to the Delhi Metro and CISF staff. The washrooms at the Delhi Metro stations are however maintained and managed by private operators.

The CD has been handed over to DMRC’s chief security commissioner for investigations. Commenting on the whole episode Anuj Dayal, Executive Director of DMRC said “The CD of the news report shown by a television channel has been handed over to DMRC’s Chief Security Commissioner for investigations. If anyone is found involved in any such wrongdoing, very stern action will be taken against the guilty”.
