Arvind Kejriwal, the Convener of Aam Aadmi Party has reportedly refused the Security Cover offered to him by Ghaziabad Police.
AAP had earlier announced that if elected, none of its MLAs, even if one of them were to become Chief Minister, would take red beacon cars, bungalows or security cover.
Reports are that Central Intelligence officials feared threat to his life, so they asked Ghaziabad Police to provide him with Security Cover, but Kejriwal refused saying that when the safety of crores of citizens was at stake, how can a leader think of taking it.
AAP Spokesperson Manish Sisodia confirmed this development saying ” It is against our party’s ideology”.
