He was released from Los Angeles County jail at Midnight local time on October 28. His Medical Licenses in California, Texas and Nevada remains revoked as of now, while his Lawyers are trying to get them reinstated.

In 2011, he was found guilty Involuntary manslaughter, in the Death Case of King of Pop Michael Jackson. He admitted before the  court that  he gave Jackson nightly infusions of propofol to treat his intractable insomnia for two months so he could rest for rehearsals.  propofol is  a surgical anesthetic that put him to sleep when other powerful sedatives could not.

Testimony indicated that propofol, in conjunction with other drugs in Jackson’s system, had played the key role in his death on June 25, 2009. Prosecutors argued that his negligence included leaving Jackson unmonitored and unattended while the powerful anesthetic was being pumped into his vein through an IV drip.

He was found guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter and sentenced to 4 years of Prison in November 2011, 2 years after Jackson’s death.

His release is not taken well by Jackson’s family and his fans. His Mother Katherine Jackson’s Lawyer issued an Statement saying “We hope he can never practice medicine again and will not violate his Hippocratic oath and hurt another patient.”
