Govt marks 305 Lakhs for Beautification of Gautam Rishi Ashram in Darbhanga

Darbhanga: The Famous Gautam Rishi Ashram at Brahampur in Darbhanga would be developed as a Tourist Spot. Government would spend Rs 305.36 Lakhs for its Beautification and the development of facilities over there.

The Fund for the Development is being provided by Water Resources Department, from the Budget of Flood Control. The Place is located within 17 km of the bank of Khiroi river.

The Shrine has the famous temple of Sage Gautam along with a water body called Gautam Kund.

The Gautam Rishi Ashram at Brahampur,Darbhanga is historical place. This place has been mentioned in various ancient literature. Brahmpur village is situated about 8 kms. away from Kamtaul and about 19 kms. south east of Jogiara.
The village is a rail head in Jale block. The village has a Khadi Gamodyaog centre and a Khadi store. It is the rail head for visitors to Ahalyasthan and Gautamsthan.

Another shrine of Historical importance Ahalyasthan is situated nearby. It is dedicated to Goddess Ahalya, the Wife of Sage Gautam. It is situated about 3 Kms. South of Kamtaul Railway Station in Jale Block.
