Gunman opens Fire at Los Angeles International Airport

Los Angeles Airport witnessed an unusual incident today when a person with a firearm  approached a checkpoint at Terminal 3 and opened fire at a Security Agent. The incident started today morning at 9:30 AM local time . The  gunman has been shot dead by Law Enforcement Agencies.

Passengers have been evacuated from the terminal and the Police is looking for other suspects. The Motive behind Attack is not yet clear. A federal law enforcement official said that the gunman was a ticketed passenger entering the airport, while others say that he was a former TSA Worker

Reports say that at least 3 people have been injured. Television footages on cable network CNN showed at least one person being loaded into one of several ambulances at the scene, and passengers were seen evacuating the area.

The Los Angeles Times reported that a TSA agent and the alleged gunman were wounded in the shooting but how the attack unfolded wasn’t clear. NBC News reports that one TSA employee was killed in the attack.

A Witness said that the Gunman used Automatic Weapon.

The Federal Aviation Administration released a statement saying that traffic into the airport had been locked down because of a “gate incident.” The agency did not elaborate.

President Barack Obama has been briefed about the incident.  White House  has urged people to listen to authorities and follow directions from first responders on site.  Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey called the shooting a multi-patient incident.
